Offers an abundance of diversity, with many shopping and dining options

South Vancouver runs along East 49th Avenue to the Fraser River, and Knight Street to Ontario Street, located at the most south-western point of Vancouver’s east. It offers an abundance of diversity, with many shopping and dining options to choose from, and includes the area known as “Little India” – providing a micro-culture experience within this multicultural environment.

The Livability of South Vancouver

With the Punjab Market running along 50th and Main Street, it brings with it sweets, textiles, Indian food and an assortment of other cultural enjoyments, which isn’t only a staple spot for those who have invested in real estate in South Vancouver, but also a destination point for tourists and locals in other neighbouring areas.

Also, with the highest concentration of jewelers in Canada in this area, it is also where many flock to for high-quality gold, among other beautiful jewels and gems.

The History of South Vancouver

South Vancouver was an independent municipality that sprung up in 1892, after Vancouver proper began to boom and a demand for affordable housing arose. Originally including Point Grey, this fell to the wayside in 1908, and in 1909 the first public school was built to the east of Fraser Street.

By 1929 South Vancouver became part of Vancouver itself, and has been a bustling community ever since.

The Future of South Vancouver

South Vancouver is a thriving neighbourhood that offers such amenities as the Sunset Community Centre, where you can find a fitness centre, a multipurpose gymnasium, as well as programs for kids and the elderly alike, and is also home to the Moberly Art and Cultural Centre and the Sunset Arena for those who enjoy the sport of hockey, or skating in general.

School such as Langara College, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary and Walter Moberly Elementary can be found here too – among others, making South Vancouver a popular choice for families looking to invest in real estate here – something I would be happy to help you decide on, showing you through this beautiful location and all that it has to offer!

East Van is home to all walks of life, and offers everything from luxurious to affordable and modern to collectables. East Vancouver houses vary in builds from spacious to quaint and single families to multi families. East Van is bordered to the north by the Burrard Inlet, with the Fraser River to the south, and the city of Burnaby to the east. In addition, the community of East Van is divided by Ontario Street on the West Side of Vancouver. Which spans quite a large area and giving people a variety of real estate buying options on every corner. I am here to help you make that happen.
