About Fraserview Condos
Fraserview is a homey neighbourhood set to the south of Vancouver, running up alongside the north of the Fraser River. It is both a residential haven, as well as a commercial hub in which to shop or dine within its neighbouring communities.
Victoria Drive sits beside Fraserview, and as such – this area is often referred to as Victoria-Fraserview. It is ethically diverse and culturally rich, being one of the first neighbourhoods to arrive in a generation of Vancouver communities and settlement locations.
Fraserview was once the home of First Nations dwellers, and was a location of an important village, as well as high-traffic (for the time) trail once lead through this area towards New Westminster. When European settlers arrived in the 1860s, they made their way through this corridor regularly, and it officially became part of the city of Vancouver in 1929.
Commercial District of Fraserview
Fraserview extends from the Fraser River all the way to East 41st Avenue, as well as borders to the west of Knight Street, and includes Elliot Street and Vivian Drive to the east.
Considered part of the “south slopes”, it faces the Fraser River and overlooks Mitchell Island in the region of Richmond and towards Delta. So it is fairly far-reaching with views to match.
Victoria Drive holds most of the commercial excitement of the Fraserview area, offering a wide variety of ethnic shops and services to conveniently serve the locals. The Punjabi Market, a 6 block area on Main Street features some of the best Indian restaurants in the city, as well as exotic fresh produce, spices, silk, jewelry and more!
Fraserview Real Estate
With a host of single-family residences, and a smattering of townhomes, it is not an area where condos are really a real estate option, but more a thriving community for growing families and long-term residents. That being said, an offshoot area known as Fraserlands or the River District, has been built up in recent years, redeveloping industrial areas into residential ones, and creating new condo buying options for those who wish to call this location home.
The Fraserview neighbourhood offers 8 parks, as well as walking trails, a library and the David Thompson Secondary School just off of Argyle Drive. It is a great community in which to live, one which I would be happy to tour you through at your convenience!
